La PJUORCHESTRA è un ensemble che si distingue dalle altre formazioni per la varietà timbrica che l’orchestra è in grado di produrre grazie anche all’impiego di strumenti come la fisarmonica, il fagotto, i corni francesi e il basso tuba, le percussioni intonate e sinfoniche come il vibrafono, la marimba, i timpani. La scrittura è affidata alla creatività e alla ventennale esperienza di Pino Jodice, partendo dall’insegnamento e dalle sonorità originali di Gil Evans, Sun Ra, Bob Brookmeyer, alla sperimentazione degli organici di musica contemporanea, l’orchestra si pone il raggiungimento dell’obiettivo ambizioso di “Suonare Diverso” e nello stesso tempo di offrire esibizioni entusiasmanti e originali. Il pensiero comune è quello di rompere le barriere, i confini tra la musica colta contemporanea e il jazz, anche con l’inserimento di elementi cosiddetti “popolari”, come fonte d’ispirazione per la realizzazione dei progetti proposti.

PJUORCHESTRA is Pino Jodice's new project. Twenty years of orchestral experience united with a 20 piece ensemble of extraordinary musicians and the ambitious goal of “playing differently”. The power and colors of a symphony orchestra combined with the energy of a big band.The  POWER JAZZ UNUSUAL ORCHESTRA is an ensemble which stands apart from the others because of the vast timbral gamma which the orchestra is capable of producing thanks to the use of such instruments as the accordian, bassoon, horns, tuba and tuned orchestral percussion (vibes, marimba, timpani). The writing is in the hands Pino Jodice with 20 years of experience, beginning with the lessons and original sounds of Gil Evans, Sun Ra, Bob Brookmeyer to experimenting with contemporary music groups offering the listener exciting and original performances. The common link is that of breaking barriers, the boundries between refined contemporary music and jazz with the use of so-called folkloristic elements as sources of inspiration for the realization of the projects. The orchestra has performed in important venues such as the Auditorium della Conciliazione of Rome during the prestigious awards “Roma Fiction Fest”, the Teatro Lirico Verdi of Trieste for the production “Viva L'Italia” for the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, in the historic “Villa Pignatelli of Naples for the Association Maggio della Musica” and continues to perform in theatres worldwide.
